Mexico to Completely Revamp its Food Supply Chain

The Mexican government has embarked on the complete redesign of its countries wholesale Logistics system. 60% of Mexico’s food is channeled through this network.

The policy is based on 5 pillars:
  • Infrastructure Improvement
  • Distribution Process Optimization
  • Development of a refrigerated supply chain
  • Promote downstream retail distribution
  • Promote Wholesale Distribution Network
In an unprecedented Private Public Partnership, US$3 Million have already been funded from Federal, State and private sources. These will be applied to Logistics infrastructure improvements in the States of Mexico, Nuevo Leon, and re-designs of Logistics systems in the regions of Central Mexico, Baja California, Oaxaca, Hidalgo and Sinaloa.

The projects are supported in part by the Secretariats of Industry & Commerce, of the Interior Commerce and Digital Economy, by the CONACA, and the Council of Logistics of Mexico.
