Usiminas Sees End of Economic Crisis - Invests in Logistics Facilities to Prepare for Recovery

Usiminas sees signs of recovery, and has embarked on a study to expand its massive Port facilities at Cubatão, in the State of Sao Paulo.

The study will look at expanding the present port facilities, to cater not only for Usiminas' own requirements, but also for any additional requirements of other third parties.

According to Paulo Fraga, head of logistics for Usiminas, the Brazilian Economy is being led out of the recession by the automotive industry. The rest of the Economy is also showing signs of a pickup.

Usiminas is projecting investments of R$500M within the next 5 years.
